Parenting is difficult. As a father, I know firsthand. As a psychologist, I have been fortunate to work with hundreds of families to help them in their times of stress and suffering. As an anxiety specialist, I have been trained by Dr. Eli Leibowitz from the Yale Child Study Center in the evidence-based SPACE (Supportive Parenting of Anxious Children's Emotions) program, which is a

SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions) is a parent-based treatment program that typically takes 12–15 sessions, but can continue beyond that if needed. The program is tailored to the individual's situation and includes three parts:

  • Psychoeducation: Parents learn about foundational concepts

  • Identifying and monitoring accommodations: Parents learn how to identify and monitor accommodations

  • Planning and implementing a specific plan: The therapist helps with problem-solving and outlining safety precautions for the interventions
