Therapy for Teens & Young Adults

The transition from adolescence to adulthood is confusing, frustrating, and rocky for many people. During this time, not only are we transitioning to independence, but our brains are also finalizing their journey toward full development. While the transition to adulthood is exciting in many ways, it can also be incredibly scary and uncertain. At least 1 in 5 college students report that they feel so depressed that they have difficulty functioning. In addition to difficulties transitioning to several new roles, young adults may experience more severe mental health difficulties related to the areas listed below:

  • Stress and Anxiety

  • Relationship difficulties

  • Failure to Launch

  • Suicidal thoughts/self-injury

  • Depression

  • Identity development

  • Low self-worth

  • Sexuality

  • Eating concerns/disorders

  • Bipolar disorder

  • ADHD

  • Sleep difficulties

  • Loneliness

  • Existential crisis

  • Imposter syndrome

Young Man in Therapy
Dr. Amendolace has over 15 years of experience working with teens and young adults:

Dr. Amendolace has worked with thousands of young people individually, in small groups, and as an expert presenter and facilitator on many different mental health topics. He excels at helping people navigate the pitfalls of this period of life, typically helping people identify and clarify their values. Many of the internal struggles experienced by young adults spring from the conflict between the values they were given, and the values that they actually hold. By using evidence-based treatment, heavy compassion, and the ability to connect with teens and young adults, Dr. Amendolace looks forward to helping you and your family on your wellness journey.
